Link Building Help for Beginner Affiliates
1) Log in to Share-A-Sale
If you're not sure how, check our beginners guide to Share-A-Sale.
2) Once you log in, click on Links --> Get A Link/Banner:
3) Finding Laga's Affiliate Links
When the page loads, click "Laga Handbags" in the merchant box -- "refresh" -- then "Get Links" under Laga's Name.
(alternately, you can just scroll down the page and look for "get links" under Laga's Name. Both ways work!)
4) Making An Affiliate Link
When our affiliate links page loads, you'll see a "search" tool at the top. Scroll down. Underneath, you'll see a box
with tabs to show you text links, banner links, etc. Click "Get Html Code" to get the code to paste on your website!
(tip below illustration...)

A text link looks like this

See the part between the pointy brackets, highlighted in yellow? That's the "clickable text" that will show on your page.
You can change it if you want to! For example, you can change it to say "my favorite handbags," etc. Share A Sale also
gives you a "short code" link that you can use in email. You'll see it when you click "get html code"
5) Making A Custom Link (Awesome Tip Below!)
You can also make custom links to any page on Laga's website. So, if you just LOVE your Damai Handbag and
want to send people right to the Damai page on Laga's site, you can! Plus, you can add a "tracking" word
so you know where your sales are coming from.

Awesome Tip!
If you have more than one webpage, you can also use a word to indicate which page you put the link on,
so that when you have sales, you can tell which of your pages are sending you most buyers. For example,
if you have 3 Laga handbags and you want to write about them on your blogger blog, you could use
tracking words like "blogger-damai," "blogger-besar" and "blogger-tenang." Then, when you have sales,
you'll be able to tell exactly where your sales came from.
6) Banners or Text? Which works best?
In most affiliate programs, text links consistently outperform banners. Does that surprise you? Banners are lovely, and
they look great on your website - but they don't speak in your voice.
Imagine writing about your favorite handbag, and telling people what you love about it. Perhaps even taking a photo
and posting it to your website or blog. Especially if you ordered a color that we don't display on our website.
And then, in your review, linking the name of the handbag to our site using a custom link. (see #5 above)
Personally written reviews tend to "sell" better than just a banner or picture. Think about it; how often do we see
a movie because someone told us it was fantastic? Or try a new restaurant because a friend loved it? Same concept.
When you give a personal review of a product, and link the text to that product - people respond much better than
just pasting a banner on your blog or webpage.
Sure, do add a banner on your blog or on your webpage - but try writing a review, too. See which works for you!
