"Knowing that I was going on a 20-day trip to China and Tibet, I was looking for a backpack that I'd be able to use instead of carrying a handbag. I saw the story in the OC Register several months ago, loved what you're doing with the people of Aceh, saw the backpack on the website and bought one. I had no idea how well it was constructed or how long it would hold up. All I knew was it was a great looking bag.
"I must tell you, I put that backpack through very hard use, in pouring rain, on and off my back hundreds of times over several weeks and it still looks brand new. No wear and tear on it at all!!
"The day we climbed to the top of the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet, it was pouring down rain. We had to show our passport to enter, so I wrapped it in plastic just to make sure the rain wouldn't seep through and get it wet. Not only is it a beautiful bag, it's also waterproof!!
"I've had lots and lots of compliments on the backpack and everytime I tell people the story of where they're made and I give them the website so they can buy one for themselves. I can't tell you how happy I am with that backpack!!
"One other thing, I went to Rooten's (on Main Street in Santa Ana) to buy some last minute things before leaving for China. Two people who work in the store and two customers complimented me on the back pack and asked where I got it. Of course I told them the story. Since Rooten's is a luggage and travel store and they carry all kinds of backpacks, I suggested that they talk to the manager and have some brought in. I'm sure they'd sell well.
