    What is DSWA?

The DSWA is an Alliance that is dedicated solely to the needs of the independent direct seller. DSWA gives direct selling women from around the world a place to call their own... an Alliance designed with their success in mind. We felt it essential to partner with an organization that could provide the best possible training in the industry.

The information DSWA provides is offered in a spirit of sisterhood, aimed at uniting direct selling women toward a common vision of success for themselves, their teams, their companies and the industry. They offer resources, training, group medical benefits, discounts and more!

We are very excited at the prospect of our association, we're proud to partner with the DSWA and hope that this resource and the tools they have to offer will bring much success to our team and help our Consultants grow and thrive!

    Ask a Pro
    Party Planning

Nicki Keohohou, a cofounder of the Direct Selling Women's Alliance (www.mydswa.org), tells you how to jump into the fast-growing field of home parties.

Have a mission. Give people an emotional reason to get involved with your company. With Laga, you're starting a home-party business to help restore and rebuild lives in Aceh. The majority of all net corporate profits from Laga go directly back to hiring and training more tsunami survivors.

Emphasize whatever it is that sets you apart from the conventional selling process. The more personal you are, the better. You can't get more personal than becoming an integral part in helping in the relief effort.

Cater to the small shopper. Some people—your mother-in-law, your neighbor— come to parties out of a sense of obligation. Laga offers some smaller items (coin purses, small and large cosmetic bags, wallets) more pallatable for those who don't have a lot of money to spend.

Underpromise and overdeliver. Due to the handmade nature of all Laga bags, most of our customers are willing to purchase products currently in stock. But many are willing to wait for their unique handbag because they want to do their part for the relief effort. In any case, Laga offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Nothing kills faith in a company faster than your failure to do what you say you'll do. We bend over backwards to make sure our customers are satisfied with the end result.

Market products—not profit. Unlike some other businesses, home parties rely on the pleasure of the process. Laga Consultants aren't in it primarily for the money. Our Home Shows touch the hearts and lives of many people, and the profits follow.

Connect, connect, connect. The home-party business is about relationships, so make sure you maintain yours. Our Laga team works together; we have a nurturing family. We urge our Consultants to connect with their customers. And we try and reward their hard work with bonuses, incentives and offer regular contests. The more loyalty you show, the more you'll get back.
