We at Laga Handbags have taken on the responsibility of creating an employment oportunity for those most devastatingly affected by the tsunami. The patterns used in all of our Laga bags are designs that have been passed down from generation to generation. Working with our very talented manager, Hanna and a full staff in Aceh, women are trained in embroidery and construction. They commit to memory all the designs and hand-guide them on pedal-driven, single-head embroidery machines.

We are working hand-in-hand with the people of Aceh in order to provide the highest quality product and continue to upgrade and revise styles and features to better meet the needs of the US market. We are committed both to the needs of the people we serve as well as to our customers from around the world. Our Commitment to our Consultants

In order to assure the continued growth of the work to rebuild, we need to pave the way for more people to hear our story. Although Laga handbags can be found in very select boutiques throughout the US, we have chosen to make direct selling the thrust of this project. We have found that Home Shows or Purse Parties are a very effective way of communicating our story and the ongoing needs in Aceh, providing employment and income to its victims and, at the same time, offer the opportunity to people around the world who would like play a more integral part in the effort to bring restoration and a brighter future to tsunami survivors.

Unlike a lot of other direct selling companies, Laga Consultants are not required to meet a quota. Our Consultants have varying goals, from stay-at-home moms working part-time to supplement the family income or make a little pocket money to retirees who want to do something worthwhile to those who choose devote all of their time to promoting Laga Handbags.
